You may have heard of the popular term HIIT Training (high intensity interval training)
Take cardio, for example. How much cardio does it take to burn through that stubborn layer of fat lingering around your abdomen?

The most recent study, out of Australia, reported that a group of females who followed a 20-minute HIIT program consisting of eight-second sprints followed by 12 seconds of rest lost an amazing six times more bodyfat than a group that followed a 40-minute cardio program performed at a constant intensity of 60% MHR.

The basic premise of HIIT training is to take a certain exercise and perform it to the best of your ability anywhere from 20-40 seconds, followed by a rest, generally between 10-20 seconds. This should be repeated between 4 and 8 rounds.

It’s no secret that resistance and weight training is great for toning and building lean muscles and now a recent study shows it can lower diabetes risk with Women.

Data on 99,316 women who are middle age or older showed that those who engaged in muscle-strengthening and -conditioning activities had a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes compared with their sedentary counterparts. The results were published in PLoS Medicine.
